Penrith, which is home to fifteen thousand people and supports many surrounding villages and hamlets, has a great deal to offer. Besides being situated in a truly beautiful county on the edge of the Lake District National Park, it also benefits from the tranquility of the Eden Valley in which it lies.
The great outdoors with its abundance of walking, cycling, fishing, canoeing, to name just a few pleasures, are right on our doorstep. There are several gyms and swimming pools in the town. There is a climbing wall, rugby club, football pitch, golf courses, clay pigeon shooting, churches, museum, play house, pubs, clubs, cinemas, college, as well as a whole variety of clubs and groups to join, from art and crafts, music and dance, acting and singing, sporting and other hobbies.
Penrith is fortunate in that it has kept many independent shops, making shopping here a more interesting and rewarding experience.
